It might quiet the kitty, but generally curiosity is a good thing for us all, especially when it comes to who, why and where we date. It keeps us looking for partners far beyond our exhaustion level and keep us pretty much in the game of human interacting even when we have been disappointed with recent developments in our looking and procuring.
For those who have a healthy interest for people of ethnicities other than ours, curiosity sometimes is all we need. Sure we might take to a certain style, look and mores of people we don’t know well or are not in our usual acquaintance, but sometimes all anyone needs is just to be curious and that will get them to dating someone not of their race.
This is especially true of westerns interested in Asian dating. Seeing as the east and the west are separated as much but not just by miles, it stands to reason that if one is a westerner coddling a curiosity for the east ad visa-versa then that curiosity is simply fueled by how far apart both cultures really are. And the further apart they are the greater a chance for stereotypes to fester and hold and in these stereotypes desire is birthed.
How many western men take to the idea of a subservient pale-faced Chinese beauty ready and willing to provide all manner of sexual delights to her man? How many long-legged blonde Texas women are seen on the arm of wealthy Japanese men….or at least wanted when Japanese men look at porn? How often does the mysterious Asian warlord appear in western fictions, a man of quiet dangerous zeal and smoking sexuality? And how often does the ravenous Asian lady with the willowy frame and dangerous black widow-like sexual prowess populate western men’s fantasies?
All these images and more are born from curiosity, from a complete ignorance of the other, a need for Asian dating in the western world and the common interest every place but the U.S. had about the U.S.
